Our Teams

Adult Social Care in West Berkshire is a broad service. Our locality teams are organised geographically to cover East, West and Central areas, so that focussed multi-disciplinary teams with staff, including social workers, occupational therapists and social care practitioners, can support people based in a local area and build relationships with GP surgeries and other organisations.

We also have teams which work across the whole area, linking in with colleagues based locally including:

• Sensory Needs
• Joint Care Provider Services (Working with people in hospital alongside healthcare colleagues)
• Reablement (Providing short term support for people recovering from an illness or injury)
• Safeguarding
• Specialist Mental Health
• Transitions (Supporting young people as they move onto adult services)

We run our own Care Homes and Resource (Day) centres and recognise the value in delivering services to clients ourselves, whilst also working closely with external providers to ensure there is wide ranging provision to meet the needs of local people.

Our Client Financial Service works directly with clients with teams including

• Financial Assessments & Charging
• Deputyship (Where the Council is authorised to make decisions for someone who lacks capacity)
• Direct Payment Support Team

Our teams work closely together every day and colleagues often transition between teams as their careers progress.
